MEET GLYN
GUITAR TECH OBSESSED WITH TONE, BASED IN CAERPHILLY
For over 30 years, I’ve been setting up, tweaking, repairing and occasionally saving guitars and basses from all over South Wales. What started as curiosity turned into a passion - and eventually into the work I’m known for today.

⭐ A Bit About Me
I’ve been a guitarist since I was a kid, and like most players, I started out trying to fix and improve my own gear. Before long, friends were asking me to sort their guitars too — then friends of friends, then shops.
I cut my teeth at Gamlins in Cardiff, where I learnt the real hands-on side of the job. It wasn’t long before I became the “hired gun” that many South Wales music shops would quietly rely on whenever a guitar needed more than a quick fix.
After years of doing work behind the scenes, I created Boutique Guitars Wales so guitarists could come straight to me — no middleman, no shop mark-up, and no guessing who’s actually working on your instrument.
⭐ My Philosophy
Guitar work is personal.
Every player has a different touch, different preferences, and a different idea of what “perfect” feels like.
I watch how you play, listen to what you want from the instrument, and tailor everything to you — from the action and relief to the fretwork and pickup height.
And I’ll always be upfront with you.
No upselling. No “you need a new truss rod” nonsense.
Just honest, experienced advice from someone who cares about doing the job properly.
⭐ Why I Do This
Few things beat the moment someone plugs in after a setup and instantly smiles — that “oh wow” moment where it feels like they’re playing their guitar for the first time again.
That’s what keeps me doing this.
Helping musicians fall in love with their instruments again.
⭐ A (Not-So-Secret) Fun Fact
I’m an avid Tom Anderson guitar collector.
If you get to know me well enough, you might get to see them all — but don’t ask me to sell any… the answer is always no.
⭐ Who Comes to Me
My clients range from beginners to touring musicians, session players and long-time pros. Many will bring a brand-new guitar straight from the shop to me before they even play it — because they know it’ll leave here playing better than factory spec.
If you want your guitar to feel, play and sound the way it should, that’s what I’m here for.
